On the 50 year tourism resort lease proposal.

On the 50 year resort lease proposal I wish to make a comment.

Honorable Members of the Parliament and dear country men,
If you are keen in extending the resort lease from a maximum period of 35 years as it now stands to a maximum of 50 years, allow it only for 100% locally owned and managed and operated resorts as at the day of the bill fullstop

Yasir, you have expressed the message very clearly as a true strategist. Of course I also believe tourism is the main resource for all the Maldivian and other sectors are very much dependent on it. So the true benefits of tourism should be given to the simple citizens. If they want to increase the lease period to 50 years or beyond, why don’t they sell shares to the public? Why not make this as a condition?
